This site has served it’s purpose. I was moved to third grade and wanted a place to organize all the storytown resources.

This will be one reading activity my students will complete next week.

In our curriculum map, we only teach lesson 26 and lesson 27 from theme 6. I have typed up one file, so students don’t study the wrong words.
I recently purchased two more MP3 players and added the leveled reader stories to it. Now it’s available as a listening station. I wanted to create some quick reading activities where students practice reading skills. The following activity was edited from the printables and changed into a cut and paste activity.
We are starting daily reading response journals in our classroom. I have typed up the following PDF file with reading response prompts. They will be cut and glued to the top of a page. After reading, the student will respond to what strategy they used. I am thinking of having lots of copies of these readily available, so students can get exactly which one they need.
I used the book “Strategies That Work” by S. Harvey and A. Goudvis to help me in typing these up.

Students will complete these two sheets at a reading activity station.
I am thinking of blowing them up (we have a poster maker) and having students choose which activity they want to complete with a partner.

I started using a pocket chart to show what my students were doing for stations, but I have found that I like it better when students keep track of what they are doing. I have typed up the following choice board and student reflection sheet. I have added the stations my students currently do and added some early finisher activities. They early finisher activities are mostly task cards that I’ve found online. I will add the links to them later.

I am planning on running my reading workshop using Daily 5 and CAFE. I have combined the reading standards and the menu to create a new file. This is what I will use when I post the strategies on the board and meet with students.
